This Holiday Season – Give the Gift of YOU to Your Local Park!

gpfg-website-gallery-alt-300x171Local park activist groups like Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park and McGolrick Park Neighborhood Alliance have demonstrated the value of friends of park groups. FBIP pushed the city to purchase the last 11-acre parcel to complete the full Bushwick Inlet Park.  MPNA successfully advocated for millions of $ for a variety of park improvements including a playground makeover, a native plant bird garden and dog run upgrades.  Join Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn at a meeting on Thursday, December 1st to develop friends groups for Greenpoint’s other treasured open spaces – WNYC Transmitter Park and American Playground.

Where: PencilWorks, 61 Greenpoint Avenue, 6th Floor

Who: Current and future volunteers, park stewards and activists

A light buffet dinner, wine and soft drinks will be served
