GCEF 2015 Large and Legacy Grant Awards Announced

The New York State Office of the Attorney General and Department of Environmental Conservation has chosen the 5 top vote-getters in recent Greenpoint community preferencing to receive Large and Legacy Grants, GCEF’s final grant awards. The projects (and lead organizations) to receive grants are:

McGolrick Park Restoration (Horticultural Society of New York): $562,056
Newtown Creek Wildflower Roof and Community Space (New York City Audubon Society): $971,782
McCarren Park Urban Farm and Green Infrastructure Corridor (GrowNYC): $477,084
Greenpoint Monitor Museum, USS Monitor Park (Greenpoint Monitor Museum): $599,200
West Street Watershed Stormwater Area 2 (Brooklyn Greenway Initiative): $1,639,878
