All Children in NYC Can Eat Free This Summer

From June 27 to August 29, all children can receive a FREE healthy breakfast and lunch, every Monday thru Friday courtesy of the Department of Education (DOE), National Basketball Association (NBA), and Share Our Strength (SOS) annual summer program.

freesummermeals From the press release, “Children don’t need to be enrolled in summer school to participate in the summer meals program and no application is required. These meals are available at many locations, regardless of where a child lives.” No registration, documentation, or ID is required to receive a free breakfast or lunch meal to all children 18 years old and under. Children in the Greenpoint area can receive breakfast and lunch at the McCarren Park Pool and Play Center at 776 Lorimer Street. Breakfast is served from 7:30am – 10:45am and lunch is served from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on weekdays. The menus include healthy options like fruit juice, bagels, yogurt, various sandwiches and salads.
