Rosh Hashanah Celebration & Stock Up for Labor Day BBQ

by Pamela Boyle on

Hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer! It’s going to be a great day at Greenpoint/McCarren Park this Saturday. We will be having some Rosh Hashanah festivities, including apples and honey, and our own Keren Shavit will be offering Hebrew calligraphy posters with your names if you stop by the managers’ tent between 10 and 12pm!

We’ll also have many seasonal recipes as usual offering ideas for the summers finest produce… eggplant, peppers, burgers, sausage, cider, corn, summer squash just to name a few. Make the most of Labor Day Weekend with a locally sourced BBQ!

Market is open from 8am – 3pm, textile and compost drop-off until 2pm.
For more info check out, checkout the Greenmarket website. See you there!

A native New Yorker, Pam Boyle spent most of her college and post-college years pursuing a career in translation. The Spanish language, plus a growing interest to learn more about farming, led her to a family-run farm in the mountains of Costa Rica where she worked and learned the basics of maintaing a small-scale sustainable farm. Once back in Brooklyn, she was eager to learn more about the local farming communities in the tri-state area and to try out some of the farming techniques in her rooftop vegetable garden. She is very excited to be working with Greenmarkets, spending her Saturdays at Grand Army Plaza with the farmers and helping the community gain access to fresh, local food.
