Where’s That Waterfront We Were Promised?

As part of the historic 2005 rezoning of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, which transformed swaths of manufacturing zones into residential neighborhoods, the city proposed an ambitious plan to build a 1.6 mile esplanade connecting the two communities along the waterfront of the East River. But now, more than seven years later, many of those promises have gone unfulfilled.
