With a low-lying location along the East River and Newtown Creek, parts of Greenpoint and Williamsburg certainly saw a fair share of flooding from Hurricane Sandy. Check out some of these photos of Sandy’s effect on North Brooklyn. And be careful of those flood waters: according to multiple sources the standing water along Manhattan Avenue from Newtown Creek most likely contains raw sewage and some seriously polluted storm runoff.
